Fire sprinklers are shrouded in myth and mystery, yet always a welcome inclusion to a building when fire strikes.

Risk analysis, Health and Safety and passive fire prevention are modern necessities in any building in keeping fire under control, yet fire sprinklers and the brigade are the only things that will put it out.  All manner of installations can be protected from corner shops to distribution warehouses, special risks such as chemical plants can be protected by "deluge systems" as seen on many a Hollywood movie.

The society was formed by individual sprinkler engineers over twenty years ago, its members were drawn from sprinkler contracting, insurance and any individuals representing themselves rather than their companies.

Today the SES meets once a month to discuss fire sprinkler issues from legislation to new products. Whether you are a building owner taking the first steps towards a sprinklered building or an engineer who wants to further his knowledge and keep upto date, the society has something to offer.
